The Most Awesome And Best Summer Activities To Try
Summer is peeking its head around the corner, but have you already decided on what activity to spend your precious vacation on? If you’re still not sure on which activities to try this coming summer, here are a few of the best summer activities to try for yourself or with your family and friends.
1. Try longboarding
Whether you’re and kid or an adult, longboarding can be a fun hobby to try. Longboarding is similar to skateboarding, but unlike a skateboard, a longboard is much faster. It’s a good way to spend your summer days if you want to try some relaxing activities such as cruising.
On the other hand, you can also use the summer season to try something challenging such as racing or downhill racing. The wind will surely feel refreshing in the midst of the heat of the sun.
However, if you really want to make the most out of the summer by longboarding and perhaps take the sport with you in the other seasons, invest in the best longboard that is both hiqh-quality and durable.
2. Develop a new hobby
Aside from sports, you can also try a new hobby at home that you haven’t been able to do all year. The possibilities are endless! But since the summer is a good time try them all, you can have lots of time for this endeavor. Here are a few examples of fun hobbies to test out this summer:
- Baking and cake decorating
- Arts (painting, sketching, sculpture)
- Crafts (embroidery, scrap booking)
- Woodworking/making your own furniture
- Redecorating your home
- Building a treehouse/fort
- DIY projects
- Remodeling your car
- Remodeling your car
- Watching a new TV series
- Taking part in charity projects
3. Maximize the beaches and lakes
The summer is the perfect time to enjoy the summer heat. Thus, most people use this time to head out to their favorite beaches and lakes. This summer, why don’t you do the same as well? In this way, you won’t have to look back at the end of the summer and regret not going to at least one beach.
However, peak seasons can make the beaches and lakes too crowded for real enjoyment. So, I recommend you and your family going to a less known beach or lake where you can enjoy yourselves without having to fight for a spot in the sand. Or better yet, why not travel to another place or country for the summer?
Tip: if you want to travel to a tropical paradise in the summer, book your tickets on non-peak days for cheaper airfare.
4. Get fit
The summer heat and the liveliness that this season brings can be great motivators to get fit. If you’ve been missing exercise because of the cold weather (because really, who likes to jog while freezing?), the summer is a good way to catch up on your workout regimen; or perhaps develop a new one.
Hand in hand with a new workout regimen, nutrition is also important. Planning out your meals or incorporating healthier ones into your diet can be the ultimate summer goals.
5. Take a road trip
If you’ve been stressed out for months at work or school, or just simply need to take a break from the usual grind of life, a road trip may be the best summer activity for you.
Sounds good so far, right? For a road trip, you only need a car, gas money, food, a map, an itinerary, and of course, people to take with you! Most people often take road trips across the country, but road trips can also be short. Maybe drive across one or two states, or visit the countries bordering US?
If you’re going to take a long road trip or a short one, you need an itinerary for both. Of course, you’re going to have to do research before your trip so you would know which tourist spots and attractions you’re going to pass. After all, the stopovers are what makes the road trip fun.
6. Go hunting
If you’re not feeling up to going to the beach or spending time at home, the summer can also be a good season to go on a hunting trip. If you’re an avid hunter, you can find elk, moose, mountain lions, pronghorn, deer, and bears to hunt during this season.
Hunting in the summer can also be a great way to catch up with your buddies. In your hunting trip, you can also include fishing, camping, and other bonding activities that are also suitable for summer. So get the keys to that old hunting lodge and grab your gear; it’s time to hunt!
7. Go to a retreat
A retreat is basically a brief vacation away from reality. On a retreat, you can enjoy the simplicity of nature and a quiet life within the confines of a camp, retreat house, or resort.
If you can feel the burn-out catching up on you, or if you can see the wrinkles showing up on your face, maybe it’s time to take a vacation from work or home. After all, the summer season is the best time to enjoy it.
Fortunately for couples with kids, you can find a couples only retreat to take break from the children. If you want to enjoy the retreat with the whole family, on the other hand, you can also find retreat places that cater to families.
8. Try extreme sports
Summer is generally the time for outdoor sports. For some, it’s the time to tick off some things on their bucket list and try extreme sports. If you’re feeling up to the challenge or are simply looking for the ultimate adrenaline rush, you can try some of these activities these summer.
Examples include paragliding, bungee jumping, cliff diving, or even something as extreme as skydiving. If you have the time and budget, don’t miss the opportunity to do it on your summer vacation.
9. Do a complete home make over
The transition time between the fair weather of spring and to the heat of summer is a good chance to remodel your home. In this type of weather, paint dries quickly, cement hardens fast, and it is generally easier to do repairs and move furniture because it’s not too cold.
A few home makeover ideas include repainting a room, redecorating, rearranging your furniture, building new cabinets, installing new shelves, and installing a new floor are just some of many examples.
10. Be a homebody
Some people prefer staying at home during the summer, and that is perfectly fine as well. If you’re an introvert or a homebody seeking solitude in your home, then do so to your heart’s content and ignore those who say nay.
Anyway, there are a lot of fun summer activities to do inside the house. Some of these examples are making homemade ice cream, enjoying your own outdoor pool, making clothes for your dog, finishing a whole movie series, reading books, and many, many more.
